🎯 Position Overview
The Deputy Manager, Construction (Internal Audit) will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, compliance, and accountability of BRAC’s construction projects nationwide. The position involves auditing, risk assessment, and evaluation of construction activities to uphold organizational standards, national codes, and best practices.
📋 Key Responsibilities

Conduct risk-based internal audits of BRAC’s construction projects as per the approved audit plan.

Lead audit teams in both field and head office assignments, providing professional guidance and quality observations.

Review project initiation processes including work requisition, budgeting, manpower allocation, and mobilization.

Assess and validate material requisitions and supply documentation to ensure transparency and accuracy.

Inspect construction sites for compliance with design drawings, technical specifications, and safety standards.

Evaluate quality control and safety mechanisms in place across project sites.

Ensure compliance with BNBC, ACI, IS, BS, ASTM, AISC, and other relevant national/international building codes.

Prepare timely and comprehensive audit reports following organizational policies.

Support risk management frameworks, facilitate annual audit planning, and coordinate audit committee documentation.

Mentor junior auditors and promote a culture of continuous learning and performance excellence.
🧠 Safeguarding Responsibilities

Ensure protection of programme participants, partners, and staff from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, or exploitation.

Act as a source of guidance on safeguarding issues and promote a safe working environment.

Follow BRAC’s Safeguarding Reporting Procedure and encourage compliance across teams.
🎓 Educational Qualification
-
Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a reputed university.
💼 Experience & Competencies
-
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Civil Construction, Structural Design, BOQ preparation, and Construction Budgeting.

Experience in auditing or monitoring construction works within the NGO or development sector is highly preferred.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETABS, and MS Office applications.

Strong knowledge of national and international building codes and compliance standards.

Understanding of risk management, finance, and audit principles.

Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
